So what’s our secret sauce or our magic formula?
Well, truthfully, there is no specific formula or magic sauce to instantly make a company great. The world is too vast and diverse for that. However, there are things that can be done to create a top notch environment. In our case, it has been the combination of hiring super talented, team oriented people with a go-getter attitude; a willingness to live by our core values in our day to day work, as well as a leadership that leads by example.
Getting the Right People on Board
It might seem like the most logical step in creating a world class work environment: getting the right people. Yet, it is probably one of the hardest ones to do as well, because people are so different, so complex. At Ascend, we strive to embrace that diversity, we actually seek it out. For a company our size and at our stage, it is a tremendous accomplishment that we have built a global team, spanning contents, time zones, and backgrounds.
We have employees all over the world, from the US where we are headquartered, to the UK, to Taiwan, to Australia and all the way back to the Americas with Canada in the North, and Nicaragua further South. Plenty of people from different backgrounds, with different views, but also with the common goal helping each other out and creating a standard of excellence. And getting recognition as one of the Best Remote Places to Work for 2024 is a major accomplishment. We are happy, we are excited and humbled by it, but we are not satisfied.
